Verna was born July 2, 1938, in Fulton, Illinois to her father, Samuel John Hays, and her sweet precious mother, Daisy Irene (Leonard)
On February 2, 1987, Verna married her best friend, Kenneth Roebuck, in MA & looked forward to seeing him in the sweet by and by.

Verna, a talented gifted homemaker & 1969 graduate of Ozark Beauty College, enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, quilting, crocheting, gardening, styling hair and using her talents to help people. She lived in Jackson, MO for several years, and previously, Methuen, Massachusetts, and was also a former resident of Poplar Bluff where she lived most of her life. she is a member of the Family of God, and attended Assembly of God Churches wherever she lived, but Southside Assembly of God in Poplar Bluff was her home church.

She visited those who needed a friend and helped those who were shut ins. But most of all, she told people about Jesus, and God’s plan of Salvation.
When Verna was a young girl, living in the St. Louis area, she crossed paths with a sweet loveable Christian lady by the name of Mrs. Lewis -who left her mark in young Verna's heart because she shared the love of Jesus, by taking kids to church and never failed to tell those kids how much Jesus loved them.
In her golden years, Verna enjoyed crocheting unique gifts for friends & family; and when she was able, she made her famous coconut cream pie. She also used her talents to make hats & scarves for military families from around the world.
Verna loved to read the Bible and talk about God and his wonderful mansions He prepared for us in Heaven & always excited to share her glorious experiences with the Lord while in prayer. And She enjoyed listening to evangelists like David Wilkerson on YouTube.
Verna treasured & loved her family and God granted her prayer request to live to see her 8 great grandchildren.
And she continued to tell people about Jesus.
