W. Kenneth Hillis

W. Kenneth Hillis, 64, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Thursday, December 24, 2015, at his business, Hillis Transport of Poplar Bluff. Mr. Hillis was born April 28, 1951, in Poplar Bluff, to the late Willard and Naomi Hillis. He was owner/operator of Hillis Transport, LLC. and a member of Fairview Baptist Church. He enjoyed tractors, camping and loved his grandchildren dearly. On March 11, 1972, he married Mary (Armstrong) Hillis, who preceded him in death May 27, 1983, later marring Mary (McCullough) Hillis on June 30, 1990. She passed away July 1, 2010. Survivors include his daughter, Barbara Fiske and husband, Eddie; two sisters, Gloria Crutchfield (Brad) and Rhonda Bennett (Jim); as well as two grandchildren, Erin Nicole Fiske and Kenneth Jacob Fiske. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert Gene Hillis and one grandson, Christopher Arvel Fiske. Visitation will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, December 28, 2015 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2015, in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Ralph Mayes officiating. Burial will be held in the Kinsey Cemetery, Harviell, Mo.
