Wanda (Magruder Powers) Morgan, longtime resident of Poplar Bluff, passed away December 14, 2012, surrounded by her family.
She was born January 22, 1927, in Poyner, Mo. She graduated from Neelyville High School and Three Rivers College. Mrs. Morgan retired from the Missouri Children's Division as an adoption specialist. She traveled extensively in the United States, Europe, Middle East and Central America.
Mrs. Morgan was a member of the First Baptist Church and served as a teacher to her beloved friendship class until her illness.
Survivors include her son, George Leon Powers (Julia) of Enterprise, Ala.; her daughter, Donna Morgan Pinkerton ( Ronald) of Poplar Bluff; grandchildren, Matthew Powers (Sonja) of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., Jason Powers of Pinson, Ala., Melissa Pinkerton-McDaniel (Clinton) of St. Louis, Mo and Beau Pinkerton (Cassie) of Wappapello, Mo.; and one great-grandchild, Meridian McDaniel of St. Louis, Mo.
Mrs. Morgan was predeceased by husbands, George Jacob Powers and Archie Lee Morgan; her parents, Fred and Golden (McCauley) Magruder; sisters, Geraldine Creach, Sarah Janes, Eudora Lockwood; and brother, Don Magruder.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. Monday, December 17, 2012, followed by funeral services at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, 844 Cedar Street, Poplar Bluff, Mo. , with burial at Memorial Gardens.
