Wayne Lee Sheppard Sr. , 62, of Harviell, Mo., died Tuesday, January 6, 2015, at the University Hospital in Columbia, Mo. surrounded by many loving family members.
Mr. Sheppard was born on March 20, 1952 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He was a life long resident of the area. He retired from Gates Rubber company in 2001. He enjoyed camping, hunting, working in his shop, spending time at his cabin, and time spent with family and friends. After the death of his wife, he raised five children that were still in his home.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rhonda. They were married on May 10, 1969 and were married 32 years before her death on September 26, 2001. He was also preceded in death by both of is parents, Kyle Sheppard Sr. and Anna Jane (May) Dollins, 2 brothers, Kyle Sheppard, Jr. and Billy Darrell Sheppard, and his beloved mother-in-law, Velta (Cox) Franklin.
Wayne is survived by seven children, Vicki Lynn Craft and husband, John, of Litchfield Park, Arizona, Wayne Sheppard Jr. and wife Beverly, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Becca Joy Warren and husband, Sonny of Blackwater, Zack Browne of Poplar Bluff, Mo. Lawrence Heacock of Poplar Bluff, Mo. and Shannon and Leroy Heacock both of the home; two sisters, Sherry Wilson and Pam Bowles and one brother, Gary Sheppard all of Harviell, Mo.; eight Grandchildren, Revecca and Michaela Craft of Litchfeld Park, Lehanne Burgett of Poplar Bluff, Shayne Burgett of San Diego, California, Bayleigh and Brylen Warren of Blackwater, Amber Schmidt and her husband, Jeren and Justin Shipley as well as three great-grandchildren; Noah of Fayetteville, Ark., and Savanah and Hailey also survive, and many beloved in-laws, other family members, and friends.
Visitation for Wayne will be held Saturday, January 10, 2015 in the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel of Neelvyille from 4:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m.. Funeral will be Sunday January 11, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel in Neelyville. Burial will be in the Kinsey Cemetery with Donnie Fowler Officiating.
Family request that instead of flowers that memorial donations be made to the Neelville School Library in honor of Wayne Sheppard Sr.
