William C. "Buck" Meadors

William C. "Buck" Meadors, 86, of Doniphan, passed away December 5, 2016 at the Current River Nursing Center in Doniphan, Mo. Mr. Meadors was born July 11, 1930 in Success, AR to the late John "Red" Meadors and Pearl (Tillman) Meadors. Mr. Meadors was a retired fork lift operator for Boeing Aircraft in St. Louis, Mo. After retiring in 1988, he moved back to Ripley County. He enjoyed fishing. hunting, yard work and anything outside. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He served during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Germany. In June of 1968 he married Mary Pratte in St. Louis, Mo. She survives. Also surviving is a daughter; Julie Ann Meadors of Doniphan, Mo; six sisters; Janet Shearn and husband Chris, Jennie Faye Royer of Doniphan, Linda Hinkle and husband Leon of Doniphan, Frieda Coon of Doniphan, Jetty Mathis and husband Lawrence of Fairdealing, and Louise Bruton and husband Larry of Naylor; one brother, Don Meadors and wife Cris of Doniphan; one grandson; Frank Meadors Curry of Doniphan. Mr. Meadors was preceded in death by two sisters; Wilma Ward and Wanda Toye; one brother; Larry Meadors and parents John "Red" Meadors and Pearl Tillman Meadors. Visitation will begin Thurs. December 8, 2016 at 10:30am in the chapel at Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel, Neelyville. The funeral will follow in the chapel at 12:00pm noon with Rev. Bill Meadors officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery near Doniphan, Mo.
