William John "Will" Dougherty, Jr., 50, of Mill Spring, Mo., passed on to his heavenly reward Friday, June 2, 2017 in Belleville, Illinois.
Will was born July 28, 1966 in St. Charles, Mo., to William John Sr. and Nancy Lois Dougherty. He married the love of his life, Lisa Faye Bailey, on August 9, 1986. They made their home near Williamsville where they raised their children, William John III (Ciera), April Leslie (Frank Bondi), Sunflower Joy, Gabrielle Faith, and Lisa Melody. He had one granddaughter, Bella Nicole Bondi.
Will retired from Poplar Bluff Regional Office after 29 years. He could play any instrument he touched (bass, drums, harmonica, guitar, fiddle, etc.). In 1991, he founded WLD Recording Studio. He was an Apostolic Minister, always about the work of God, ministering to God’s people in music and preaching, and was Assistant Pastor over several different congregations, and finally as pastor-elect of New Life Apostolic Tabernacle.
In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with his family, BBQ’s, working on the family farm, fishing, and model railroading. He was a loving, funny, amazing husband, daddy, grandpa, and son who will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at New Life Apostolic Tabernacle, 603 W. Victor St. in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff, with Evangelist Bobby Frankens officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Chapel Hill Cemetery near Williamsville.
