Wilma Jean Ward (nee Sheehy), 74, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 22, 2016 at her home, in Poplar Bluff, surrounded by her family.
She was born February 4, 1942, in Poplar Bluff, to Frank and Alice Sheehy. She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Robert Ward.
Wilma was known for her design work at Rob's Flowers, her love of crafts, Christmas and her big family. She was a life-long member of the Oak Grove Homemakers Club.
She is survived by her sister, JoAnn Busby and sister-in-law, Myrtle Mitchell, her children, Michael and Tylou Ward, Tammy Bogie (West) and Clay, Cathy and Steve Bogie, Keith and Yvette Ward, John and Kathy Ward, and JoAnn and Darren Powell; grandchildren, Buck and Jennifer Bogie, Cristi and Daniel Scott, Charlotte Ward, Samantha Ward, Austin Ward, Justin Ward, Sara Ward, Dustin Powell, and Katie Jean Ward; great-grandchildren, Haley Miller, Genna, and Taylor Bogie, Madyson and Julia Scott, Emerson Tyler, Emmalynn and Addilynn Ward; great-great-grandson Carter Miller and her devoted dog, Ladybug.
Visitation will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 26, 2016, in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Jim Schremp officiating. Burial will be in Sparkman Cemetery.
The family suggests donations can be made in Wilma's name to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
