Zencie Odean Rulo, 91, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
She was born April 1, 1924 in West Ridge, Ark. She loved listening to and writing Gospel music and recorded 6 CD's. She was a member of Poplar Bluff Full Gospel Fellowship.
On May 20, 1995 she married Charles Rulo in Desoto, Mo. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son, Bud Leisure and a daughter, Karen Bourbon and husband, Frank; 2 daughters-in-law, Sharon Leisure and Pat Leisure; one sister, Shirley Drake and husband, John; her grandchildren Perry McDaniel, Cynthia Glover (Randy), Darrin Leisure, Gena Early-Leisure, Christopher Wells (Laura), Jason Wells (Barb), Adrianne Logsden (Jarrod), Frank, Brian, David Bourbon, Jason Bourbon (Trish), and Jeneen McIntire (Brian); as well as 25 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson on the way.
She was preceded in death by her father, Francis A. Barnes and mother, Gertie Lee Barnes; two sons, Jimmy Dale Leisure and Johnnie Lee Leisure, 4 sisters, Addie Johnson and Gertrude Cunningham, Fannie Lee Barnes and Alma Jewell Barnes, 2 brothers, JB Barnes and JW Barnes; and 2 grandchildren, Tammy Leisure and Andy Leisure.
Visitation will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, February 7, 2016 at the Poplar Bluff Full Gospel Fellowship Church. The funeral service will begin at 3:30 p.m. at the church, with Bob Fry officiating. Burial will be held at 12 noon Monday, February 8, 2016 at the Mo. State Veteran Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo.
