Bonnie Burns, born July 07, 1940 went home to her Savior on October 22, 2021.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred & Edna (Moore) Walker and brother, Jim Walker.
She is survived by her siblings: Ethel (Walker) & Glen Gillespie, Bob & Mayjean Walker, Don & Naomi Walker, Patricia (Walker) & Archie Bickford, Bill & Kathy Walker, Fred & Sabrina Walker, Linda (Walker) Snodgrass, Brenda (Walker) Stenger, John & Beverly Walker; her children: Teresa (Burns) Maize, Minnie (Burns) Quigley, John Burns Jr., Alvin & Maxine Burns; her grandkids: Amanda (Burns) & Isaiah Degonia, Crystal Burns, Dusty Powell Jr., Cynthia (Powell) & Lex Elliott, John & Teata Quigley, Shawn & Kayla Burns, Charlie Burns; several nieces, nephews, cousins, great-grandchildren and a great-great grandchild.
As a child, Bonnie lived on a sorghum farm in Naylor, MO where she helped the family with farm chores. In her high school years she lived and worked at the local restaurant in between classes and playing basketball. Though she had various jobs after high school, once she began working the healthcare field, she found her place. She moved and remained in Poplar Bluff, MO where she raised her beloved children and spent her free time with her parents and siblings who were dear to her. Bonnie retired after a 20+ year career as an LPN for the former Lucy Lee Hospital. She enjoyed telling stories about her time as an aide and an LPN. In her retirement she worked as an LPN for a local facility for special needs children. Bonnie’s other interests and hobbies included flowers, fresh garden tomatoes, travel in the U.S., dancing, singing to her grandkids, watching wrestling and westerns and putting puzzles together. Bonnie will be fondly remembered and greatly missed for her kindness, laughter, sense of humor, being down to earth, a hard worker and willing to do anything for those she loved.
Visitation will be Friday October 29,2021 from 12PM-1PM at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will begin at 1PM in the chapel. Burial will follow in Gum Cemetery near Naylor, MO.
