Curtis Vinton Sumner, 56, of Paragould, Ar., passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2014, at the Arkansas Methodist Medical Center.
Mr. Sumner was born November 14, 1957 in Granite City,Ill. He enjoyed singing, preaching, traveling, cooking, and loved animals. He pastored the Fire House of Praise in Cardwell, Mo.
In 2001 he married Jan Lee Sumner. She survives.
He is also survived by a daughter, Mandy Jo Pyles and son-in-law, Harley, whom he claimed as a son; his father, William Vinton Sumner and step-mother, Mary Sumner; two half-sisters, Freda Fennel and Deloma Cantaberry; two half-brothers, Otis Edwards and Jimmy Stevens; as well as several nieces and nephews and a large church family that loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his mother Bessie Wood Sumner
Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Monday, February 3, 2014 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, February 4, 2014 in the funeral home chapel, with Patsy Weaver and Jerry Summers officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery, Fairdealing, Mo.
