Elder Troy E. Martin

Elder Troy E. Martin, 83 of Corning, Arkansas, passed away September 11, 2013 at his residence. He was born March 15, 1930 in Lepanto, Arkansas to the late Frank Martin and Minnie Byrd Martin. He is survived by his children; Gary Martin of Peoria, Illinois; Bobbi Gillis and husband, Jerry of Memphis, Tenn.; Monica Sue Liepins and husband Guntis of Rockford, Ill., and Dawn-Marie Coggins and husband Jason of Little Rock, Arkansas. One brother Raymond Martin of Rockford, Ill. and seven grandchildren, Elizabeth, Ashley, Allison, Kathryn, Melissa, Jesse and Alexandra as well as four great grandchildren, Ava, Davis, Amelia and Gillis. On January 30, 1959 at Salem, Arkansas, he was married to Lola Jean Deatherage. she preceded him in death April 9, 1969. Then on July 1, 1975 He was married to Sandra Jones At East Moline, Ill. She preceded Him in death on February 27, 2011. He wa the Pastor of the Antioch Missionary Baptist church at Oxly, Missouri. He has also pastored at Bethel Missionary Baptist church in Rockford, Ill. Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Corning, Arkansas and Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Piggott, Ark.. he was a licensed Electrician and retired from Quaker Oats Company after 36 years of service. he loved his church, his family and old cars. He was preceded in death by his parents, Two wifes, and one sister, Vera Durham and two brother, Dave and Jerry Martin. Visitation will be Friday September 13, 2013 at 6:00 pm in the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel in Neelyville, Missouri. The funeral service will be Saturday September 4, 2013 strting at 11:00 am at Fowler-Sullivan. Burial will be in the Antioch Cemetery at Oxly, Missouri with LaVerne Reed officiating.
