Gene Hill

Gene Winford Hill, 87, of Poplar Bluff, MO passed away on April 06, 2023, at his home in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
Gene was born on February 22, 1936, to John Earl and Rosie Bell (Lowery) Hill in Blytheville, Arkansas.
Gene had retired from working at the phone company after 33 years and was a Mason for 50 years. He loved to work with wood and to go fishing. He was notorious for being the life of the party, he also loved to be with family.
Gene is survived by son, Gene W(Christina) Hill Jr. and daughter Michelle Hill. Grandkids GW Hill III, Marcus Hill of California, Jessica (Brian) Sandlin of Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Great grandkids Matthew and Brooklynn Sandlin of Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Siblings Cathy Goss of Texas, Shirley Sanders of St. Louis, MO, Brenda (Bill) Gulledge of St. Louis, Mo, and Larry Hill. Honorary Grandchildren Brent Wagner and Sean Butler.
Gene was preceded in death by his wife Fern of 49 years, mother and father Earl Hill and Rosie Hill, along with siblings Rex Hill, Charlie Hill, Billy Joe Hill, and Jimmy Hill.
There will be a Masonic service April 11, 2023, at 11:30am followed by visitation until 1pm at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff, MO. Burial will be at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo at 2pm
