Rev. Gene P. House, 86, of Poplar Bluff died Aug. 11, 2021.
He was born March 6, 1935 to Benjamin Allen House and Mary Lorene (Parker) House in Mason Hall, Tennessee. He was united in marriage to June Farley on Oct. 24, 1957.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years; daughter, Dorla House; son, Daron (Amanda) House; three sisters, Sonia Davidson of Dyer, Tennessee, Louise Reber of Anderson, California, and Brucilla Wright of Humboldt, Tennessee; one brother, Kerry House of Trimble, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Brandon (Brooklyn Chappell) Cook, Joshua Terrell, and Sarah (Jacob Hankins) House; and two great-grandchildren, Braxton Cook and Berkley Cook.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Maurice Allen House; and one sister, Patricia Guterriez.
He worked for Municipal Utilities in Poplar Bluff for 36 years in the water and waste water department.
He was a licensed minister with The Living Word of Faith Fellowship in Panama City, Florida. He held a general amateur radio license and was active in civil defense and emergency management for many years. He was also a missionary to the Navajo Indians.
Visitation will be at noon Monday, Aug. 16 at Fowler Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff followed by a graveside service at the City Cemetery at 1 p.m. with Rev. Bonnie Cannell officiating.
