James (Jim) Alan Ryan, 74 of Poplar Bluff passed away April 25, 2021 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Jim was born January 25, 1947 in Tuscaloosa, AL.  He was raised by his mother, Betty (Bollinger) Padgett and Edward Padgett. Although Ed was his step- father, Jim considered himself Ed's son and was proud to call him Dad.  Jim was a 1965 graduate of Poplar Bluff High School.  He worked at the Florsheim Shoe Co and later worked in maintenance at Doctors Hospital and Lucy Lee Hospital for over 30 years.  On July 8, 1976, Jim married the love of his life, Bonnie Hargrove Drew.  She preceded him in death on March 25, 2014.  Jim was an avid St. Louis Cardinal baseball fan, a passion that started as a boy listening to them on a transistor radio and continuing throughout his life; Jim loved his Cards!

Jim is survived by step-son; Lanny Drew (Pat), son-in-law; Roger Crouch, brothers; Ronald Ryan (Brenda), Glen Padgett (Debbie), sisters; Karen Padgett  Wallis (Nelson), Brenda Padgett Johnson (David),  (Nelson), 4 grandchildren,8 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents was preceded in death by a step-daughter; Cheryl Crouch, step-sister, Eddie Ann Padgett.

Visitation will be 5-8 PM Thursday, April 29 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff.   There will be a funeral procession meeting at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home at 10:30 AM Friday.  The graveside funeral will begin at 11:00 AM Friday, April 30th at Qulin Cemetery with Rev. Curtis Crowley officiating.
