James "Jim" Carpenter Obituary

James (Jim) Douglas Carpenter, 73, passed away Monday May 23, 2022.
James was son of late J.E. and Marie Carpenter.
He is survived by wife, Tara of the home, a son Lee Hobbs (Sarah) and daughter Ashley Arnold (Eric).  His biggest pride and joy were his grandkids, Lauren Hobbs, Jackson Arnold, Maddie Hobbs, Ava Hobbs and Bennett Hobbs.  He is also survived by sister Almeda Moore (Gene), brother Martin Carpenter (Ruthann) sister-in-law, Michelle Johnston, brothers-in-law Scott Johnston (Angela) and Todd Johnston (Regina), as well as several nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Glenda Carpenter.
He gave the best foot rubs and would not pass up an opportunity to wrestle with the grandchildren.  Hunting and fishing with them was his greatest enjoyment.
Jim was a builder by trade and was involved in building several homes in prominent subdivisions in Poplar Bluff.  He was an avid Cardinals fan as well as hunter and fisherman.
In keeping with his wishes, his ashes will be spread at his favorite hunting and fishing locations.

A private memorial will be held at a later date.
