Joyce Teasley

Joyce Elaine (Nuckles) Teasley, 70 of Poplar Bluff, left to see Jesus today, February 8, 2020 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Joyce was born August 12, 1949 to the late John and Phyllis Nuckles in St. Charles, IL.  She was raised in Batavia, and graduated from Geneva High School. She was a cosmetologist for many years at JT's Mane Event  as well as received an Associate's Degree in Business Management at Three Rivers College in 2017.  Joyce was a member of the First Methodist Church in Geneva and later joined the First Church of God in Lilbourn and Poplar Bluff, Mo.

Joyce resided in Aurora, IL in the early 70's and married Teddy in Batavia, IL  They migrated to Missouri in January 1978.  Being blessed with Danny and Jeannie and many grand and great grandchildren, life was never idle.  She made many friends throughout her life, especially through church and while working at her salon, as well as various jobs including Fermi Lab, Rowe Furniture, Nordyne, and Oak Grove Elementary, where she enjoyed helping as a substitute teacher.

Joyce was creative, with a generous spirit supporting various charities and institutions throughout her life as well as remembering to give blood regularly.  

When she wasn't working, Joyce enjoyed doing things with her husband, the rest of the family and some best friends.  One of her favorite things to do was have the grandchildren come for a visit....while visiting, her crazy adventurous spirit came out and all had fun.

Surviving are her beloved husband Teddy Teasley, two children; Jeannie Teasley (Steve), Wayne Matthews(Freida); grandchildren, Kristen Clark (David) , Colleen Hayden (Kevin), Dylan Clark (Abby), all of Missouri. , Matt Pique (Whitney), Heather Uhl (Vince), Joseph Matthews (Sarah), all of TN; great-grandchildren; Gary and Veronica of Missouri, Maddie, Haven, Andrew, Seth, Kelly and Naomi all of TN; four siblings in IL; Janet, Carol, Ronnie and Randall, her Teasley brothers and sister; Johnny (Lori) of IL, Ernie and Wanda (Tom) as well as many other in laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and great friends.  

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, a beloved son Danny, brother Roger and many others she loved and missed.  

A memorial visitation will begin at 5 pm Monday, February 10, 2020 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff.   The memorial service will begin in the funeral home chapel at 6 pm with Rev. Jackie Gann officiating.
