Lester Ray Johnson, 61, of Poplar Bluff, MO passed away on October 17, 2024, at his home in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Lester was born on July 26, 1963, to Claude and Loretta (Stobbs) Johnson in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He married Tammy Earls, February 10, 1994, in Corning, AR. Lester was a loving husband. He enjoyed, fishing, camping and grilling. He was proudly registered with the Cherokee Indian Nation. Lester was an avid carpenter, and was currently employed at Briggs & Stratton in Poplar Bluff, He had served as a SGT in the United States Army in Ft. Dix, New Jersey from 1984-1991. During his time in the Army, he was awarded the Army Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, Army Achievement Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Expert Marksmanship Badge-Rifle, M-16, and Air Assault Badge. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge Post 3730 in Poplar Bluff. Lester is survived by spouse, Tammy Johnson, stepson, Paul Earls and wife Angel, mother, Loretta Stobbs, sister, Shelia Meyer, brother, Randy Johnson and wife Sherry, brother, Larry Johnson and aunt, Shirley Rihn and husband Bill, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. Lester was preceded in death by his father. A Memorial Visitation will be held on Monday October 21,2024, from 1-2PM at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home 701 Vine St. Poplar Bluff, MO A Memorial service will begin at the funeral home chapel at 2 PM with Rev. Ron Daughhetee officiating. Full military honors will be conducted on the parking lot to begin the services.
