Margaret Jane McLean Henthorne entered into Heavenly Rest on August 09, 2021, in Polar Bluff, MO., at the age of 97 years. Born to John James McLean and Sarah Jane Decker McLean on November 22, 1923 in Blytheville, AR she was married on May 29, 1953 in Piggott, AR., to William Ralph Henthorne who preceded her in death January 22, 2002.
Margaret was a very accomplished musician, playing guitar with her musically talented family and having written lyrics and melody to many inspirational and religious songs, as well as being very prolific in crocheting and knitting, gardening and making many friends. She also attended the Cane Creek Extension Club for many years and spent her early life in Puxico, MO., close to family members. Margaret was a longtime member of Bethel Chapel and Living Word Church in Poplar Bluff, MO.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Ann Powell Greer and Gina Henthorne Martin, both of Poplar Bluff, MO. and one sister Geneva McLean Clark of Puxico, MO. and six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and eight great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson Joseph Howell Greer, two step daughters, Norma Jean Henthorne Pyle and Ann Henthorne Sante, and six brothers Roderick McLean, Rodney McLean, Floyd Lee McLean, Woodrow McLean, Morris McLean and Lawrence Edward McLean, and one sister Dora Elizabeth McLean.
Arrangements are being handled by Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, Poplar Bluff, MO., with services being private.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
