Maudie (Newingham) Davis

Maudie Lorene Davis passed away peacefully in her sleep, November 29, 2023. She was 94 years old. She was born October 4, 1929, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, the youngest of five, 3 sisters and 1 brother.

She was a seamstress and homemaker for her husband and 2 daughters. She cared for her family tirelessly, always putting the needs of others before her own. In her younger life she was a hard worker, whether it was picking cotton or helping to start the Apostolic Pentecostal Church of Cahokia, Illinois with her husband.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Junior H. Davis. She is survived by daughters Barbara Ann Davis Hubbard of Poplar Bluff and Sharron Kay Davis-Buckner (Alan) of Golden Valley, AZ. Grandchildren Michael Hubbard (Jenna) of Poplar Bluff, Michelle Riley (Rick) of Golden Valley, AZ, Paula Hubbard Potter of Poplar Bluff, Robert Ates II (Wendy) of Trenton, IL, Aaron Bievenue of Golden Valley, AZ, Michaela Cahalin (Matt) of Wood River, IL.  As well as many great grandchildren and many great-great grandchildren.

Services will be held at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Visitation will be held December 10, 2023, from 5:00 – 6:00PM for close family and 6:00 – 8:00 PM for family and friends. Funeral Service is Monday, December 11, 2023, 1:00 PM by Reverend Terry Haynes. Interment will be with her husband in Corning Cemetery, Corning, Arkansas.
