Minnie Deckard Obituary


Minnie Ruth Deckard, 88, of Festus, Mo. passed away on Friday, April 7, 2017 at her home.

Mrs. Deckard was born on April 18, 1928 in Naylor, Mo. She worked in a shoe factory and enjoyed Cardinal baseball, cooking, her church, gospel music and taking care of her family. She was a member of the Naylor Church of God.

On January 25, 1947, she married Lloyd Raymond Deckard in Pocahontas, Ark. He preceded her in death on Sunday March 21, 2010.

She is survived by her children, Tom Deckard & wife Aurelia of Festus, Mo., Marvin "Short" Deckard & wife Kathy of Springfield, Roy "Kettle" Deckard & wife Kathy of Conway, Ark., Brenda Wallace & husband Doyle of Farmington, Mo.; 4 brothers, Bill McGee of Naylor, Mo., Jim McGee of Festus, Mo., Don McGee of Lake City, Ark., John McGee of Naylor, Mo.; 11 grandchildren, as well as 13 great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Lizzie McGee; One granddaughter, Heather; sisters, Barbara Powers, Linda Barker and Pattie Sue; brothers, Dale L. McGee, Bert McGee and Dick McGee.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel in Neelyville from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. The funeral will be on Friday, April 14, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel with Bro. Bob Featherston officiating, assisted by Donnie Fowler. Burial will take place at the Naylor Memorial Cemetery.
