Randy Beck Obituary

Randy K. Beck was born in Gideon, MO May 2nd of 1959 to Mary & Alva Beck.

Randy grew up in and around Poplar Bluff with his nine siblings.

He attended Poplar Bluff High School thru the 11th grade. Randy learned from an early age how to cook. He would get up early every morning to help make breakfast for the family, anything he could do to help his mom he did. As a child he worked around the neighborhood helping older neighbors with their gardens, cleaning up fence rows, any type of work he could find to do. At 15 Randy went to work for Kentucky Fried Chicken, fibbing about his age. He got so good at cutting chickens for them, he cut up birds for the whole southeast region for KFC. He moved up to management and worked there for several more years before leaving the company. After that Randy decided to do a bit of traveling, sometimes he hitch hiked, sometimes he rode the bus, once a small airplane (said he would never do that again). He went to Minnesota and lived with Rayburn for a while and worked. He went to Texas and drilled water wells for a while. Always back and forth to the Bluff to visit his mom and family.
In 1981 he traveled to St. Louis and stopped to visit his sister Beverly; Bev had a roommate named Irma. They were going to a dance the day he showed up there. They wanted him to go but he did not want to go to a dance alone. He saw a picture of a girl on the table and asked who she was. Irma said that is my sister Brenda. He said call her! That began the love of a lifetime. On September 11, 1982, they were married in the park.
Randy worked as a laborer, as a sawman for a lighting company, and finally in remodeling construction with his favorite boss, Stewart Waterman. Randy was only forty-two when he had a 5-bypass heart surgery. He was still working his flowerbeds, planting his garden and growing tomatoes. He had a green thumb like his mom. His tomatoes would tower over his head they grew so big. Randy loved to fish camp, float, swim and do anything outdoors. He liked to go out driving in the snow in winter. He liked partying with both sides of our families.
He could fix anything. Cars, mowers or weed eaters. He loved to help people and offered to help his sisters with their cars or whatever they really needed.

Randy loved his mom with all his heart. Randy was kind, loving, friendly and sweet, he never spoke harshly, he was great with training people and liked to help the underdog. He did not tolerate bullies. Randy had great physical strength and had a nickname of Popeye as he had the same kind of muscles. Randy was a great guy; he believed all the rules applied to everyone.
He believed in God and that Jesus Christ is his Lord and Savior. He did not believe in man's religion. Randy was a good soul, and no one will ever replace him in our hearts. He is still here with us as he has placed his love in our hearts, so we will never be without his memory or his love. He is waiting for the rest of us to join him probably smoking a
cigarette and eating his favorite watermelon, and petting all his favorite dogs, Lil bit, Momma Girl, Freckles, Daddy Boy, Jo Jo, Tiny, and Rusty.
Randy is survived by his wife, Brenda, sisters, Janice Braden (Tony) and Lesa Farris (Chris), all of Missouri. His brothers, Jimmy (Teri), and Kenny Beck all of Missouri; sisters-in-law, Sherry Beck, Mary Jane Beck, Gail Beck, Amelia Clough, Irma Smith, Zadie Shaul (Chris) and Linda Bowman, all of Missouri. As well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Beverly Pace and Pam Beck; brothers, Rayburn, Ricky, and Greg Beck; brother-in-Law, James Pace, Joseph Bowman, and Donald Smith.
