Robert Eugene Burkhart, 69, of Grandin, MO passed away on January 27, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving wife and children.
Robert was born on November 22, 1950 to the late Edgar and Edna (Williams) Burkhart in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
On September 18, 1971 he married the love of his life, Carolyn Sue Ketchum in Poplar Bluff.
Mr. Burkhart enjoyed traveling to the mountains, spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping, motorcycle rides and just being surrounded by God's beautiful nature. Most of all he adored his grandchildren and spending time with his beloved family.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Carolyn Burkhart; daughters, Krista Richardson, Rebecca Griffin and husband Bryan, son, Robert D. Burkhart and wife Nikki , 8 granddaughters, Erika Truelove and husband Jay, Shaniqua Parker and husband Shane, Bryanna Griffin, Ariana Burkhart, MaKayla Burkhart, Bayleigh Griffin, Ceirra Burkhart, Gracie Burkhart, 4 grandsons, Tyler Burkhart, Kyle Richardson, Kody Richardson, Remington Burkhart, 2 great-granddaughters, Kylee Truelove, Jocelyn Burkhart, 1 great-grandson, Bentley Burkhart, sisters, Edna Geter and husband James, Marie Jameson and husband Kenneth, Mary Ellen Anderson and husband Donald, Barbara Rinabarger, Judy Powell and husband Bobby, Thelma Jean Allen and husband Jim, brothers, Everett Burkhart and wife Liz, Ronnie Burkhart and wife Kathy, Glen Burkhart, Jimmy Burkhart, special sister-in-law, Marvene Luthy and husband Bob and many, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, son, Robbin Eugene Burkhart, grandson, Bryan Austin Griffin, brothers, Junior (Jim) Burkhart, Virgil Burkhart, and Tommy Burkhart.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2020 from 6-8 pm at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be 11 am Friday, January 31st in the funeral home chapel with Pastor David Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Daughhettee Cemetery in Butler County.
PP Hwy to CR 425 at Windmill Hill then IMMEDIATE right on CR 426 approximately 1.5 miles on left will see cemetery.
