Shirley Stone

Shirley Stone, 74, of Poplar Bluff went to heaven to live eternaly with her Savior on January 22, 2011 at her residence with her family at her side. Visitation will be from 10AM-12 on Tuesday January 25, 2011 with service to follow at noon. At Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home 844 Cedar St. Poplar Bluff, MO Rev. Larry Edwards and Rev. Steve Winberry will officiate and burial will be in Memorial Gardens. Heaven lit up with a mighty presence, as the Angels all looked down. Today the Lord was placing the jewels into my Mothers' crown. He held up the golden crown, as my darling Mother looked on. Then God said in His gentle voice, my precious daughter, it's time for you to come home. And so it was at 2:02 AM on Saturday January 22, 2011 that Shirley Stone, age 74 of Poplar Bluff, MO, with family and friends gathered around was ushered from this life into the throne room of God.

She was born October 12, 1936 in Butler County to the late Luther Andrew Stone and Anna LaBrier. She was a member of Black Creek Missionary Baptist Church. She had worked 25 yrs as a dental assistant for Dr. Robert Flatt. She enjoyed her family, craft shows, and collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia.

June 11, 1955 she married Donald Stone in Butler County and he survives. She is also survived by three children; Dennis Stone and wife Cindy of Portland, TX, Scott Stone and wife Linda of Poplar Bluff; and JoAndrea Stone of Poplar Bluff. Nine grandkids; Scotty Lee Stone and wife Jessica; Kassie Straub and husband David, Ernest Hinojosa of Portland, TX, Lissa DeLeon of Corpus Christi, TX, Dennis Stone Jr of Portland, TX; Katreena Stone of Portland, TX; Stephanie Stone of Austin, TX; Matthew Rushin of Poplar Bluff; and Aimee Gerdes and husband John of Poplar Bluff. Ten great grandkids; Briana Hinojosa of Jonesboro,AR; Ernest Hinojosa Jr of Portland, TX; Elena Hinojosa of Portland, TX; Angel DeLeon of Corpus Christi, TX; Emmaleigh Stone of Springfield, MO; Trinnadee Stone of Fisk, MO; Xander Straub of Fisk, MO ; Nolan Gerdes of Poplar Bluff; Cole Sisson of Poplar Bluff and Conner Sisson of Poplar Bluff. A sister Peggy Tinsley and husband Harold of Poplar Bluff; and a brother James Walker of Poplar Bluff. And numerous nices and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Burris Walker; a sister-in-law Elwain Walker; a sister; Elizabeth (Sitty) Oltman; a brother-in-law Bumps Oltman and a sister-in-law Mildred Walker.

Shirley's family and friends will miss her tremendously.
