Sidney Eugene Shoumake, 79, of Naylor, Mo., passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
He was born April 14, 1936 in Poplar Bluff. He was a member of Southside Assembly of God, where he served as a deacon for several years. He was a Vietnam Veteran and honorably served his country in the United States Navy for 30 years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Margaret E. Shoumake; four sons, Roger Shoumake of Naylor, Rocky Shoumake and wife, Marilyn of Desoto, Mo., Ricky Shoumake and wife, Gloria of Naylor, Rowdy Shoumake of Waukegan, Ill,; two sisters, Brenda Olcott of Jackson Beach, Fla and Judy Larue of Poplar Bluff; 6 grandchildren, Zachary Shoumake of Festus, Russell Rachael, Tyler Richard and Ashley Shoumake of Illinois; one step-grandson, Grayson and one great-granddaughter, Gemini of Illinois, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held at 6 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2016 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff. Funeral services began at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2016, in the chapel, with Pastor Jerry Lemons officiating. Burial with full military honors was held in the Black Creek Cemetery, Poplar Bluff.
