Virginia “Ginny” Anne Stupy Cooper 72 passed away Sept. 23,2020 after battling cancer for the third time, surrounded by her family.
Ginny was born September 29, 1947 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Perry O. Stupy and Dorothy M. (Skibo) Stupy.
She graduated from North Hills High School in 1965. In 1966 she joined Women’s Army Corp, communication specialist. She then moved to Poplar Bluff and was employed at the VA Medical Center until 1985 when she was reinstated to US Postal Service and retired as postmaster at Harviell, MO after 31 years, in 2002.
Ginny had many different passions thru the year volunteering her time at American Legion on Bingo nights, traveling, and collecting many items. Her true passion was the many sport and academic activities of her grandsons.
Ginny is survived by her daughter Teresa “Terrie” Cooper (Ron), 5 grandsons; Nicholas Bunton, Nathen Bunton, J. Nash Bunton, Russell Bunton (Alex), Ronnie Bunton (Brandy), great-grandchildren; sister, Dody Stupy Brady, brothers; Bruce Stupy, Michael Stupy and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, sister Valery Stupy Scanlan, and one grandson; Michael James Cooper Bunton.
There will be an inurnment at Missouri State Veteran Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo Monday, September 28, 2020 at 10 am.
